ADOPTION

Max was rescued way north of town this week.  He was almost dead.  After a few days of plenty of food, water and love he is doing much better!!  He is around 8 months old, friendly and looking for love!!

If you would like to meet him that can be arranged.  Foster care or a permanent home is needed.

Call Sheila for more information at Local: 624-141-0267 or From the US: 858-427-4965.

This eight to nine week old female rottie mix was found last week at the local dump.  She was all alone, hungry and frightened.  After receiving a call from a neighbor Brian went up to the dump to look for her.  It took him about 30 minutes to find her.  She had buried herself in the trash in an attempt to hide.  Brian's persistence paid of in a big way.  After picking her up she drank almost a quart of water!!  Brian took her home bathed her, fed her and held her until she fell asleep.  Within a few hours she began to feel safe and was happily playing with Brian's other two rescue dogs.

She is going to be a good size dog when fully grown.  She is very social and loves everyone and other dogs.  She had already had shots and will be spayed in a couple of weeks.

Now, all she needs is a home!  For more info about her call Brian at 141-0283.  ALMA can help arrange transportation to the states if necessary.

These 2 cuties are available for adoption and looking for a loving home.

They are  lab/mix pups that were spayed the other day. Our # here is 1248068 and the pups are at Michele Melehes on Barracuda Blvd. Thanks for posting this. Sincerely, John Herschleb

This female is looking for a loving home. She is very cute, small, well behaved female available for adoption.  She is brown and white with the cutest little pink nose and feet.  She is approximately 1 year old and weighs around 20 lbs. She is fully grown.  She is helping with the puppies right now but will be available for adoption very soon.  If you have been longing for a sweet small dog she may be the one for you!

Brian is very busy these days providing foster care to this new mom and her litter of eight!  The pups are only a week old and won't be available for adoption for a few weeks.  They will all be at the ALMA booth at the Arts Festival on Sunday, Mar. 6.  We will be taking names of interested potential new parents for these cuties.  Please stop by and see them!

Mama is approximately 1 year old.  She has soft silky hair.  She is full grown and weighs around 20 lbs.  She is very sweet and well behaved.  She, too, will need a new home in a few weeks.

If you have an interest in adopting one of the pups or in helping to provide foster care please call:
Brian at 141-0283.

 Foster Care & Adoption:

This area remains the most problematic for us because we have no facility. Luckily we have a few
huge-hearted volunteers who are always willing to take care of these orphans, but we need more
help.  We are always on the lookout for anyone who cares to assist us by being a foster care giver
to a homeless dog or cat, or a new litter of puppies or kittens until suitable homes are found.
Donations of food for these animals are always needed as well.

If you would like to adopt one of our animals and take it to the US:

You will need a health certificate issued within 5 days of crossing  the border into
the US. If you are flying you will need to make an advance reservation with the
airline. You will need to have an adequate crate.  (Like the ones we use for the
clinics.)  You will need to have a water container attached to the crate even
though there is no water in it as it would spill anyway. If dogs are small
(puppies)  Alaska will allow two in a crate for the price of one.

  I was adopted at the
  Festival de Artes

Alaska Airlines now charges $100 per crate. If driving, a health certificate is good

to have. If you are planning to take a dog to a Humane Society in the states
                                                           for
adoption you need to contact them in advance and make an appointment
                                                           to
relinquish the animal. Animals that are in good condition and are social are
                                                           more likely to be accepted.
